 The Universal Communicator, is her hand-held Video Interactive Personal Digital Assistant. The Lady then uses the VIPDA's infrared capabilities to turn on the TV and look at the News. Her news program is interrupted by Mary telling her that Raquel, her oldest daughter, is on the phone.
